Not up/Down – do you know the difference? (Appendix 1 - Definitions)
Many folk do not understand the difference between these 2 calls. It can be important in a match at times as the wrong call can lead to arguments between a player and an official because they are understanding differently what stopped the rally.
Not Up – means the ball was not played correctly, so includes a double bounce, a double hit on the wall, carried ball, and even a player hitting the ball back to hit himself.
Down – means the ball did not reach the front wall correctly, so means the ball hit the tin (either going to or coming from the front wall), or the floor.
